Paul,

Do you know if ActiveSync via VPN to Exchange works? It did with WM5 but
not
in WM6.
Do you know when it may be fixed?

Any comment is appreciated!!!

The message about no DHCP server is on the device, yes? That indicates
that
the device's USB RNDIS network adapter is set to use DHCP to get an IP
address for network communication. The adapter is activated when you
connect to the PC with ActiveSync via USB. So, you plug in, the adapter
goes off and tries to get an address, which it can't, and you get the
message. Correct? The thread that I pointed you to tells you how to
adjust
the settings of that network adapter to get rid of the message. It
shouldn't actually hurt anything, in this case, but there's the
information
on getting rid of it correctly. Once you get rid of it, see if the
connection to the PC now works. If so, be happy. If not, we have to go
from there...

Sorry, Paul, but you have lost me. ActiveSync can not connect although
it
will connect to another computer running XP Pro SP".

The first thing is not really a problem. You've somehow changed the
network
configuration of the USB RNDIS 'network card' in your device to use a
server
assigned IP address. There is no server, so you get the message.
However,
ActiveSync should still work. This has come up a number of times in
the
past and a search with GoogleGroups of this group gives those threads,
including this one:

http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.pocketpc.activesync/browse_thread/thread/195bfe5f606be92f/60223fe1c53dcfce?hl=en&lnk=gst&q=cannot+get+a+server+assigned+ip#60223fe1c53dcfce

The second item, I would think, indicates something else. Reading the
log
files in the %temp% folder might point to the problem. Those files
that
begin with "wce" are the ActiveSync logs.

Troubleshooter doesn't help.
