Re: AS w/ multiple devices, simultaneously

That might work; I don't feel too confident about it, though. If you post
to a programming group for Windows Mobile, I think you'll get some better
information on exactly what to try (microsoft.public.pocketpc.developer,
maybe). The devices we manufacture don't use ActiveSync for anything so,
although I'm an ActiveSync user with my own WM device and have verified that
AS works with our device, I'm not very familiar with RAPI or programming to
control ActiveSync on the desktop side.

For breaking the connection, I was thinking of just disconnecting the
network adapter that AS creates using some NDIS calls. I don't see anything
obviously on-target for doing that immediately, though. Oddly, I know
exactly how to do it from the device side...

Hi Paul,

"Breaking the existing connection is the *easy* part" --> I have no idea
on
how to do it. I've written a very simple c# program using the
microsoft.windowsmobile.dll, thinking it was the solution, but it's not. I
can check whether the as is working, if the pda is cradled, and many other
stuff but i can't end the connection with the pc!

"Triggering the next sync is the hard part"--> I used to have a PDA with
PPC2003 on it, and every 5 minutes it was trying to get connected to the
PC.
If I close the connection with the first device, and I configure my WM5
devices to "wake up" looking for a connection with the PC every X minutes,
wouldn't it work??

It would be great it you could help me,

thanx

Yes, I think that it might be possible, but you'd have to do a *lot* of
interacting with the device manager and you'd have to test the heck out
of
it. Breaking the existing connection is the *easy* part. Triggering the
next sync is the hard part.

And what if you could plug all the devices to the PC, and the
activesync
sincronizes one, then another, then another,... instead of
uncradling-cradling all the devices??

Is it possible to make a program (say c#) in order to kill the
connection
of
the device with th PC? This would leave activesync free for the next
decive
to sync...
