Re: Cannot Create New Sync Relationship with Outlook!

Jeff is right. On the ipaq itself, assuming WM5, in the options for AS you can see the items that are set to sync with your PC. If you highlight the PC label at the top of the list you can delete that partnership, or if you tap and hold the PC label at the top, you get the option to delete that partnership altogether.

Hey Stubbler:

I don't know if this will help or if it even matters, but there is a
"record" of your partnership on your ipaq, assuming you're running WM5.

With your device disconnected from your computer, go to
Start/Programs/ActiveSync & open AS. Once you're there, click on Menu in the
bottom left hand corner. (Now is where i'm working from memory, since i
deleted my partnership earlier trying to fix my own AS problems...trust me,
you don't want to know!). I think if you click Connections, you can (and
should) make sure the box is checked that says "Synchronize all PCs using
this connection:" then have 'USB shown in the drop down box. The other thing
is to go to options, and i think there you can delete your remaining
partnership.

I hope it helps, and i apologize for the imprecise instructions due to guess
work. Good luck.

I needed to re-create a new Sync Relationship with my Desktop PC and my iPAQ,
so I disconnected the device, then selected "Delete Mobile Device".

I then reconnected the device, then went through the Synchronzation Setup
Wizard:

* I type in a new name for my iPAQ.
* I check-off synchronize directly with Exchange, I sync with Outlook instead.
* clicked Next
* HERE IS THE PROBLEM: I can't check-on Calendar, Task, and Contact
Information types, because ActiveSync still thinks I have a Sync Relationship
defined. It gives me an error message saying that this Service is still
synchronizing with my PC--which it's not!
* It tells me to go to Options and check-off these services, but I have no
connection, and therefore Options is greyed-out!

So I tried un-installing Activesync, in an attempt to remove all
synchronization info tied to the iPAQ. I also deleted the program folder
after uninstall. I then reinstalled Activesync 4.5.

I did the Wizard again, SAME PROBLEM, doesn't work. So now I can't connect
with my Outlook anymore at all!

Please help! I need to completely remove any synchronization info between
my pocket PC and my desktop PC, and start over again.
