PC not recognizing ppc6700

I've been using my USB cord to connect my PPC to my computer almost
everyday since I got it. Last week I installed the DST update and
everything went fine. I go to connect me PPC to my computer today and
my computer & microsoft active sync is not recognizing my PPC. When I
plug my PPC into my computer the little Plug icon appears on my PPC
which indicates the plug is working but my computer isn't recognizing
my phone for some reason. I thought that updating to 4.5 would fix the
issue, but it didn't. Any help?
