Sorry I should have tested with NIS 2007 active before posting, but your message caught me off guard. You are right, of course, so that saves me some trouble. Thanks.

I am delighted to hear this helped you as well. As you saying that you sync email on Vista with NIS 2007 enabled?
Now if I can just get Word from crashing. I spent 3 hours on the phone with Ms yesterday and still no solution. I can't believe it. Never remember having had so many problems with a new os.
"Argun" <Argun@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote in message news:11F59030-01D3-4AB8-912C-DCC3CD975818@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxThank you very much Ako. Repairing Office solved my problem too.
I really don't understand why and how repairing helped since it was a clean
installation.
Norton Internet Security 2007 does not mess things up although it is not
disabled.
Have a nice day...

Oh well. Word kept crashing and would not open so I went to the control
panel and ran repair on Office 2007. I rebotted. Word opened with no
problem.
Then I decided to try for the 1,xxx time to sync again. Just to level the
odds, I disabled the firewall and left the sync with only contacts and
calendar. It worked. Then I enabled the firewall and it did another sync
which worked. Then I added email and it would not sync email until I
disabled the firewall.
So I don't know what other file or port I need to give permission to with my
firewall (NIS 2007) and after this working once about a month ago and then
never again I don't know what will happen tomorrow, but for the moment it is
working.
