RE: 80072ee2 sync usb fail

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi Cameron,

I am using DOPOD 838 Pro with Windows mobile 5 and Activesync 4.2 installed
on my laptop.
I have disabled the proxy server (i.e. by deleting both HTTP and WAP proxy
server IP address) that has been automatically defined by the network
provider as per your suggestion. However though, the error message changes to
80072efd, which I don't have any clue about it. On top of that I tried to
play around the toggle "work/The Internet" options. Still has no luck on me.

Thank you Doug. I have fount the cause to my problem: the Connection profile
(Cingular: Media NET) had a proxy server defined which prevented the
connection via the USB cable. WHY this is, I do not know as I assumed the
USB connection would not ise the Connection profile (for either Internet and
Work connections)...?

Thank you all for your help.

Hi Cameron,

One other thing to try is in Connection Settings in ActiveSync on the
desktop computer. The default is "This computer is connected to: Automatic".
I had to change this to "The Internet" for another device I had. The
Automatic portion wouldn't work.

Also, try Active Sync 4.5 Beta.

I am having the same problem too. My problem started with my new Windows
Mobile 5.0 device too. At first it was working fine for a couple of days,
then all of a suddent I got the error too:

The server could not be reached. This may be caused by temporary network
conditions.
Support Code:80072ee2

I have tried to run a 'Detect and Repair' (or 'Office Diagnostics') on
Office 2007. I have also removed (uninstalled) and reinstalled ActiveSync
4.2. But these operations did not resolve the issue either.

P.S. I am using Office 2007, part of Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007.

If anybody figures out how to address the issue please let me know.

Thanks,

Cameron

Hello,

When I try to sync with my exchange server I get error 80072ee2 server could
not be reached. I have two devices (PPC-6700 and i730). Both exhibit the same
behavior. I run Small Business Server Premium 2003. MS Product Support told
me to try this newsgroup, as the SBS one coldn't find anything wrong.

My WM2003 devices worked fine. My WM5.0 devices can sync with the server
through the wireless carrier but when in the cradle on a networked pc I get
the error. It syncs with the pc but not Exchange (calendar, contacts, inbox).

I saw a few posts similar to mine, but none of their resolutions worked for
me. I need help!
