Chris: Yep, I know that ActiveSync uses Outlook to sync it's stuff -
been using PPCs and ActiveSync for years. It's just that before it
'automatically' (is that the right word?) ran Outlook (or MAPI) in the
background and worked fine. Now it seems to NEVER sync properly without
me actually starting Outlook myself first and keeping it running as
long as my PPC is in the crade.
Note: My OS for my main workstation (Host) is WinXP SP2
My ActiveSync version is 4.2
Outlook version is XP (2002) SP3
And my PPC is an HP iPAQ hx2495 with Windows Mobile 5
And the error message varies: Sometimes it simply won't sync (just sits
there and spins), or it shows up with message/error 'ActiveSync cannot
connect to the Windows Mobile powered device' or else the error code
#85010014. (I tried doing a 'Fix/repair' on my Outlook file but that
didn't help.
Any ideas here? Thanks.
Tom
Hi,[quoted text clipped - 4 lines]
ActiveSync requests Outlook to run in order to access the Outlook
have SP3 installed? Did you check any antispyware apps to see if
they are causing the problem?
