Hi,
I think however the problem can be resolved if he changes the
synchronization type from RNDIS to Serial.
Any ideas?

Yes, unless I miss my guess, this is a known issue. A quick search in the
archives of this group for a thread called ActiveSync Kills Wireless will
give you the history and what you may be able to do about it.
GoogleGroups archives all of the old messages:

Basically, your wireless client program is disconnecting the network
connection because of security.

I have an Imate Jamin with WM 5. I am using Activesync ver 4.2. I have
Windows XP with SP2 on my laptop.
The problem is that when I activesync my imate with laptop using usb,
the laptop internet stops working. As soon as i disconnect my imate,
the internet is resumed on the laptop. I am connected to work LAN and
use a proxy server. I have tried various options I could find on the
net but have not had any success. Can anybody help please?
