Re: AS4.2/WM5/OUTLOOK2K3 suddenly not syncing, please help

Helio,
I've tried all three combinations that you've mentioned, but still no
luck. I've also turn "OFF!" Windows Firewall. As I've mentioned in the
previous post, there is a connection EXIST between the device because I
can browse its content and the memory card (SD). Lastly, I've tried
deleting the partnership, unload/reload AS 4.1/AS 4.2. I just couldn't
figure out why the "http listener" is stuck, (and what is it
anyways???)...
Please have a look at the capture from Ethereal. I've hard reset the
device before I do so.
Notice on the entry 138 (to 182) and onward, the PC keeps looking for
connection on port 26675 but on the PPC the port number keeps
incrementing and acknowledging and reseting until you pull the USB
plug. Connection to port 990, 999, 5678 and 5721 are perfectly fine. So
the green signal just keep spinning and getting nowhere. Does http
listener has something to do with opening port 26675. What other
factors preventing 26675 from opening? I've removed all the possible
"firewalling" applications. What other suggestion that you can think
of?
I am really frustrated with this version of activesync. I really wish
someone could help me out a bit in getting a solution.
Tony

First, check if this port is open in the exceptions of your Windows
Firewall.
Second, check that at the moment you connect your device, a network
connection appears and this connection has TCP/IP protocol checked.
Third, you could try to delete the partnership and let AS re-discover your
device.

I've been able to sync happily for last couple month when I first got
my WM5 device. After upgrading to AS4.2 I am not able to sync anymore,
but I can still browse files on my device/Memory Card. I've tried
absolutely everything to get it back to sync but no luck. That's
including muddling around with software (Norton AV, reinstalling
Outlook, countless times of reinstalling Activesync, removing Windows
Media Player) & hardware (updating and removing drivers, Windows
Firewall set to NO).
After looking at netstat, I realized the AS ports,i.e. 900, 990, etc.
are connected except for 26675. Viewing the logs, I found out that the
Http Listener is not loaded. So what's preventing it from loading up???
(ERROR in CHttpEngine::SetTrustedIp) Also, I tried capture the data
between PC and WM5 using ETHEREAL and I noticed that communication to
port 26675 on the PC keep ACKing and RSTing for many entries. and port
on device is increasing by one after each RST.
I've been googling on the net and out-of-sync for days. Any
suggestion????
