If that doesn't show up, it sounds like the USB drivers are old. AS should be updating those, but it may be that something in the AS install has gone wrong. Does *anything* show up in the USB devices list in Device Manager when you plug the device in? If so, you might select the item corresponding to the WM device and delete it, which should give you a shot to remove the driver. Reinstalling AS after that might fix it.

Network adapter does not show up at all. It used to before I re-installed the O/S software. I always had Symantec VPN software in my desktop and was able to sync to my device. Is there anything else I should check?
Thanks

When you attach your WM5 device to the USB port, a new network adapter should appear under Control Panel | Network Connections on the PC, representing the WM5 device. Does this happen? If not, what security software are you running which might prevent: scripts from running, network adapters from being installed, network packets from being routed to some interface other than your built-in Ethernet (a virtual private network might do this)?

Raj:
Thank you for your response. When I connect my device to the PC using USB cable, nothing happens, no wheel spinning especially. When I try the connection settings and try to connect, it would spin the wheel and eventually come back with the error message that no device was found. I have checked my firewall settings and they allow Active Sync. I have removed and re-installed Active Sync in my desktop twice and it did not make any difference.

Hi Krish,
This line in the log is a new one for me - "PC is not qualified". At the
moment I am not aware what exactly determines the qualification. Could you
provide some visual information about exactly happens when you connect your
device to the computer. Does the ActiveSync wheel turn green and starts
spinning?

Samsung I-730 with Windows Mobile 2005 O/S. I was able to connect my PDA
with laptop and desktop both with O/s Windows XP Pro SP 2 and having Active
Sync 4.2 installed. I had always synched to my Laptop but with my desktop, I
was only creating a connection for transfer of files or CAB installation.
One day, in my desktop, I was getting error messages about missing DLL files
and I was forced to re-install Windows XP and upgrade to SP2. I had removed
and re-installed Active Sync 4.2 in my desktop. Since then I am unable to
Sync. Active sync program could not find the device, even though USB is
available. DHCP in my desktop continues to work without a problem. I have
checked all possible ways to get connected to my PDA in my desktop, but I am
unsuccessful. Could some one direct me to correct this problem.
Thanks.
Krish
