Hi,
You could try referring to http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=65461 and
check if required connection properties are enabled -
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/help/activesync/troubleshooter/moreoptions.mspx
In you post script - Are you referring to installation of software on the
device via ActiveSync or something else?

Hi!
The active sync does not show any activity - but after some time, all by
itself it displays "can not connect" and offers trouble shooting. The icon
of Mobile device appears in 'My Computer', but if I click on it, empty
window shows up. Also, If I disconnect the device, the icon does not
disappear. In the log file I found information that it can not determine
the device IP adress.
I have uninstalled/installed AS 4.2 several times - nothing better. On
other computers it is working without problems. Firewall is not the
issue - even when completely off, nothing changes.
In device manager I can see Windows Mobile based device #5, when plugged
in. In the properties, I can see nothing in the field "network adress" -
should I type something in?
Thanks for help, anyway.
PS. Is there work around Active Sync at all, or is it the only way of
software installation?
.
