Re: synchronizing frequency

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Thanks for the trouble Steven; I surely hope Microsoft is carefully watching
the discussions so as to improve ActiveSync (4.2).

And nope, it didn't do the trick. AS really is the cause of this problem, as
it occurs on various other WM5 devices. MS, please fix this!

I'm going to try the following workaround tonight: create a fake exchange
profile, then you can access the Schedule button. There should be an option
to set it to manual sync, and then delete the fake exchange profile. I've
read about this, and it seems that it could resolve this issue. Will post a
message with the results later.

Indeed, it is most annoying seeing the handheld synchronizing every time
while it is just in the cradle for recharging.
Still it puzzles me why the button 'schedule' in the toolbar is greyed-out
(same thing on my PDA).
Who can tell me whether this is correct; and, if not, how to enable this
option?

Nope, that's what you get, every 5 whether it needs it or not. Irritating if
you have the device off (standby) and are just want to charge. Every five,
turn on, connect, sync, sit there using power. Bleeech. Been beating up the
WMDC guys about it. Might get some relief.

Working with ActiveSync 4.2 and having all sounds and notifications on my
hx4700 (WM5.0) enabled I noticed that ActiveSync synchronizes every five
minutes or so.
At the same time, on my PC, the option "schedule" of ActiveSync is greyed
out (why?).
Can the interval of sychronization be adjusted; which options can be set?
