Thanks for the reply, Chris.
It's great to have your expertise available.

Hi,
Do you have a software firewall installed? It can prevent synchronization
like you described.
Sorry...that is one of the things I forgot to mention I had
tried. I have ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite, and as far as I
can tell, I have it configured properly. I did try disabling it
the other day, but it made no difference.
After reading your message, I decided to give it another try. I
closed ZoneAlarm and Spysweeper, which I also had running. No
change.
As for the types of data that you are synchronizing you can choose these
when you are connected or on the Pocket PC under ActiveSync.
I wish that were true. That's the way it's worked in previous
ActiveSync versions. With version 4, though, Options is not
available while it's "looking for changes", and after it displays
the error message, it's still not available. (It's grayed out.)
Thanks for suggesting the Pocket PC side. I was able just now,
while disconnected, to uncheck Calendar, Contacts, Email, and
Tasks. However, all the others (where the problem more likely
resides) will not let me uncheck them.
And it still times out and gives me an error when it reaches MLO
Sync, which I am unable to disable. :-(
