Re: AS 3.8 Not Appear on Computer

Hi, Raj:

I took your advice and emptied the "temp" folder, but that did not solve the
problem.

I notice that when I shut WinXP down the installation process for AS begins.
Of course it does not continue because the computer shuts down.

Hi,

Before attempting to install ActiveSync, try clearing all the files in the
temp folder. To access this folder

1. Click Start -> Run and type

%temp%

2. Click Ok.

I had to reinstall AS 3.8. So, I:

-Download AS 3.8 from MS Downloads to Desktop
-Click on "MSASYNC" file on Desktop
-Get "Open File - Security Warning: Click "Run"
-Files of "Extracted"
-"Copying Files..." dialogue Box opens for a few seconds and closes
-No evidence of AS appears on Desktop or in the system tray
-AS does not appear on "Start" or "Additional Program" menus
-AS does not appear in "Control Panel's" "Add or Delete Programs"
-AS does not appear in "Program Files"`

I have tried this process at least three different times: including one
where I had Win Live One Care's firewall turned off.

Thanks for the help
