Re: Installing in wrong location?

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi Terry,

I assumed it got ticked by default but that doesn't seem to be the case when
I verified. Either way, there is no easy manner to determine the location
where the software is installed via ActiveSync. One method to find out
where your software is installed would be to install a registry editor on
your device and then access the following key:

\HKLM\SOFTWARE\Apps\

Here you will find the list of the software that is installed on your
device. Select the software and take a look at the value of "InstallDir"
that should give the location of install.

For registry editor you may use PHM Registry Editor -
http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/. You can set the above
registry key as a favorite item for quicker access in future.

Great, thanks Raj. That looks the best place to check.

And I *thought* I could implement your neat idea about adding it to my
Favourites by using my Resco Explorer 2003 v 5.10. I'd assumed that
included the registry, because it's shown if I click the 'My Device'
icon bottom left. But it doesn't work.

The Favourites Add/Delete option lets me open a Browser window, but to
my surprise the top levels are just My Device and My Network. Not My
Registry. Is Resco Explorer not up to this, and I have to get a new
program?
