I'm with Chris. Nothing you describe is a 'problem', in my book. Using
100% of the CPU causes the process to finish sooner than if you artificially
limited it to, say, 50%. If sync never finishes or the usage is at 100%
*after* sync is complete, that's a problem, but, unless you're paying by the
CPU cycle, 100% isn't a 'bug'.

Hi,
Part of what it could be is when ActiveSync starts Outlook in the
background. Outlook will take a lot of CPU depending on how large the PST
file is.

Anti-Spyware = Windows Defender
Firewall = Windows Firewall
(I'm a Microsoft Fan-boy)
Even when these are disabled the problem continues to occur. In my
original
post I forgot to mention that I have a Dell Axim x50v running Windows
Mobile
2005.

Hi,
Does ActiveSync work ok? Do you have a software firewall installed or
antispyware app installed that could be conflicting?

I am running Windows XP Home with WMP11 and ActiveSync 4.2 Beta. When
I
attempt to sync my device, there is a noticeable lag from when I rest
the
device in its cradle until it begins to sync. Then when it starts
synchronizing the CPU Utilization immediately jumps to 100%!
Is there any known incompatibilities between WMP11 and AS 4.2B?
