I would not do #2 (you'll no doubt end up deleting them from the
desktop computer), and #1 should delete the calendar items on the
Pocket PC. If not, then delete the partnership and start over again,
and when it asks tell it to delete everything on the device and grab
everything from the PC.

OK, that makes sense. I'll probably just delete the partnership, re-connect,
and set the options to only synch 2 weeks worth. If I do that, does
ActiveSync keep all FUTURE events (unlimited into the future; not just two
weeks) on the PPC? I would think this is obvious, but after all, it is a
Microsoft product.
If you tell it to replace everything on the device, the data in the
device is wiped and the new data is downloaded to it.
Having said this stuff, can anyone tell me if keeping only recent past (two
weeks, like I said) events will speed up the operation of the Calendar app
on the PPC? Again, I have about 8 years worth of calendar items in there
now. Yes, it's sluggish. Before I delete all those items (from the PPC only
of course), I'd like some reassurance that I will actually notice a speed
improvement on the device. Thanks for your help.
It would depend on the number of calendar entries, including the
number of calendar entries per day and looking forward into the near
future. I don't keep more than a few dozen calendar entries at a time,
so I'm not the heaviest user of the calendar app.
