Glad you got through your problems. As you have found out the Active Sync
backup and restore is troublesome, and in my experience very slow. I would
recommend looking at the backup programs available commercially which are
much better, Sprite Backup and Spb Backup.

I have moved from a PSION to a Pocket PC with Mobile Windows about half a year ago. I was spoiled by the IMHO quite perfect EPOC system on the PSION and had the same expectations here. Solely the idea to produce a PDA with all data vanishing not in ROM or SD when the battery runs empty seems very peculiar to me. The PSION had a backup battery for memory in case the batteries ran empty. I never lost all my data on purpose with the PSION.

I also find that the Windows operationg system is very rudimentary. Very often I think it has been made like that on purpose to make the customers buy extra software for basic procedures, e.g. the explorer.
