Right now I have ActiveSync (4.1) set to synchronize ALL my calendar items
(all several years worth!). So I have several years worth of calendar items
on the PPC. I think it makes my WM5 device run slowly. So....I'd like to
delete all but the most recent (about two weeks old) items from the PPC
device, and then tell ActiveSync to not worry about what happens to stuff
older than two weeks old. But....I want to keep ALL my calendar items intact
on the PC, in Outlook. So, can I:
1) Set AS to only synch up to 2 weeks ago, then...
2) On the PPC, delete all calendar items older than 2 weeks old, then...
3) Do an ActiveSync session, which will hopefully ignore all my items over 2
weeks old.
Hopefully, at #3 above, Outlook on the PC will NOT delete all the calendar
items older than 2 weeks old. This would be because I set AS to the settings
in #1, correct?
Basically, I would only like the most recent calendar items on my PPC
device, but I want ALL the calendar items to remain on the desktop Outlook.
If someone can steer me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
I would not do #2 (you'll no doubt end up deleting them from the
desktop computer), and #1 should delete the calendar items on the
Pocket PC. If not, then delete the partnership and start over again,
and when it asks tell it to delete everything on the device and grab
everything from the PC.
