Re: Cannot Detect--Raj, please help!

Raj,

Would you confirm for me what you mean by a soft reset? Just so I'm sure
I'm going through the motions properly...

I have my Microsoft Firewall activated and the firewall that is part of my
wireless router. I use eTrust ezAntiVirus software.

Thanks, Raj.

Caroline

Hi Caroline,

Did you try connecting the device after performing a soft reset?
Additionally are you using any firewall/anti-virus software?

Hi Raj,

Thank you for your replies to me regarding earlier posts dated 10 May.
I'm having trouble with ActiveSync detecting my device, and I have
followed all of your instructions, completing the following:

* Uninstalling other versions of ActiveSync and installing v 3.8
* Updated OEM USB drivers for Toshiba e350 Pocket PC
* Ran Device Manager and confirmed entry under Windows CE USB Devices (it
says, "Toshiba Pocket PC e350 Series)
* Got the little pop up that new hardware was detected. When I turn on
my Pocket PC and connect to the cradle, ActiveSync doesn't detect it, so
I run the Get Connected Wizard. It searches for the device, then I get a
message, "Your device was not detected." Then the list of ports reads
like this:

Com 1 - Available
Com 2 - Not Installed
Com 3 - Available
Infrared (IR) - Not Installed
USB - USB is available

And this message is at the bottom: "If connection you are using is
available, make sure cable is plugged in securely. For more info, click
Help."

If I try to follow Help, it takes me to an unavailable page on the
Internet.

Do you have any more advice for me?

Thank you so much,

Caroline
