Hello Paul,
Thank you for your response, I have followed the MS site to the T over ten
times I really need this and can not reinstal. to answer the questions Chris
has asked here goes.
Hi,
What firewall "(MS Firewall only)", antivirus "(Trend)", antispyware "(None had MS one and bitdefender removed that)", and desktop OS are you using? "(WINXP SP2)"
Did you install ActiveSync after Outlook? "(Yes)" What version of Outlook are
you
using? "(latest 2003 with all sps)"
the devcie does get an IP and so does the XP machine ip 169 ...... etc.
any assistance is welcome.

You can see if the PC is able to get an address from the device by running.
IPCONFIG in a command window. Remember that you have to have the DHCP
Client service on the PC running so that it can get its IP. You've gone
through the troubleshooting document linked from www.microsoft.com/mobile?
And please actually *answer* Chris' questions! Those are important pieces
of information...

antispyware the MS version and bitdefender and i disabled the MS firewall
with XP and nothing. I don't know if something else is doing this but i
suspect it. I have looked and the device seems to get an ip address and

blocking it I really need help in getting this working any ideas are

Did you by chance put in your MSN credentials to the machine? I had this
problem when I used Pocket messenger and the problem disappeared after I
cleared my credential from the machine. I think it has to do with Pocket
Outlook hanging when trying to get mail from the MSN/Hotmail account.
And this problem seems to have been solved with AKU2 update.
