I tried deleting the partnership again and re-establishing it and NOT
sync'ing favories, files, or tasks. A viola...it worked. So I tried so
some combinations of them. Here is what I found.

Bottom line...I can sync any ONE of files, favorites, or tasks. If I select
two or more of these it takes so long to sync (> 10 minutes) that the thing
gives me my old error.

Try running Help -> Detect and Repair in Outlook, then reinstall
ActiveSync.
