One way to try and create a new profile in Outlook by going to control panel
on pc and choosing mail and show profiles, create new and call it test and
select option for prompt for profile. Use the Outlook import/export wizard
to export your current personal file folder to a personal folder (call it
testdata.pst). Exit Outlook and then reopen Outlook into the new profile.
Use the import/export wizard to import the testdata.pst file and then make
the following changes on the device. When disconnected from pc goto
activesync on device and select tools, options and make sure that the current
partnership does not have calender checked to sync.
Connect device and Activesync on pc should prompt to select profile. Select
Test and then it will run setup wizard to sync new data. Do not select any
items to sync at first. Go to Tools, Options and then when new partnership
friendly name is highlighted select settings and make sure it is set that if
conflict replace item on device, then only select calender, click ok and see
if that one will sync onto device. If the corruption was on devices calender
then it may correct the problem.
An alternate is to create a new Outlook profile that is completely blank and
rather than importing the testdata.pst file just connect device and see if
Activesync can sync all information from device to a blank outlook profile.
If try one or other you may be able to resolve the problem of straightening
out the corrupt data but without an application similar to Resco Utilities
File Viewer which allows you to see the protected files that Microsoft
doesn't want you to see on the WM5 devices I don't know of a quick way to
remove the Calender data from device in a quick manner.
I hope this information helps

Hi Jon.
When you stated you added in Appointments/calender are they two seperate
fields in the ActiveSync options screen.
No..just ONE field - 'Calendar' (I sometimes mix up/confuse the two!)
If so then your probably running MS
Office 2003 and used an install disk to install ActiveSync rather than the
download from Microsoft Website.
No, I actually downloaded it from the MS site
The only time I have been able to resolve
the seperation of Calender information from listing a seperate field for
appointments after Media conduit is to perform clean uninstall of ActiveSync.
Delete the reg key(s) and delete the program folder Microsoft Activesync
left after uninstall and then download and install version from Web. It
normally turned out not to be issue of corrupt data on device but problem of
corrupted install/mapping of ActiveSync conduits to Outlook on PC
Do I need to do this then?
I guess all I want to do is DELETE the calendar data on the WM% device. Can
this be done without deleting tasks/contact/notes data?

PS To my previous email. I have managed to determine that it must be the
CALENDAR DATA that is somehow corrupted on the WM5 device. I found this out
by selectively adding and removing the component parts of AS ie 'Notes',
'Tasks' Contacts' etc it all synced fine until I added in
Appointments/calendar. Now I want to REMOVE the calendar component, but
because it freezes when connecting (because it's trying to access the
calendar data), I can't seem to figure out how remove the 'calendar' as
'options is greyed out or not available
To recap
- How can I remove 'Calendar' other than via AS?
- Is there a way of exporting the calendar data from my WM5 device so I can
examine it?
failing that. is there a quick way to delete all calendar data from the WM5
device but leave 'tasks', 'notes' 'files' alone

Hi! I'm experiencing a problem with ActivSync - it refuses to sync. It had
been working fineU. I have since bought a NEW PC and installed AS4.1 on the
new PC, but I still get the same error code when trying to sync. I have read
another threads that suggests running scanpst on the Outlook pst file, but in
fact, the pst file is brand new on the new PC - it's empty! I have concluded
that maybe there's a corruption on the mobile device data. Is there anyway to
selectively (individually) sync 'appointments', 'tasks', 'contacts' etc so I
can determine where the problem lies (I'm guessing here)
Is there a log file I could sent you that would identify the exact problem
Is there any other way to get the data (calendar, tasks, contacts) OFF the
WM5 device (as it's more up-to-date!)
Thanks
Steve
