I have the same problem and I do not see any solution!!!??? where can I get
it? Has Microsoft issued a fix of this bug? Is trhere any other program - not
from microsoft - that I could use to syncronise with my PC?

Hi Rob. thanks for the response and explanation..
It highlights yet again how far microsoft stick their heads up you know
where before starting to think about things- are they scared that they'll
catch something if they actually communicate with the grubby little
consumers(victims) of their lunatic programming and find out what people want
and how they use the programs before imposing some bug riddled half baked
piece of junk on a monopolised market.
The main reason for me getting a mobile PDA was not to have it plugged into
my PC constantly, kinda defeats the object of it being mobile otherwise.
I connect via bluetooth so don't get the benefits of USB cable charging.
My main gripe is more the memory wasted on it running itself, owing to the
novel way that the internal memory is set up, leaving relatively little free
for anything operational, and the lack of any user input into modifying this,
it seems completely stupid (ie typical microsoft) to constantly run a drain
on the memory which will only be used sporadically and for a short period
each day (or less frequently)

I have an o2 version of the i-mate jasjar running wm5.0 and active sync 4.0
I have had no sync problems installing or using etc until yesterday
AS has thrown up a microsoft outlook error message that it couldn't begin to
sync as outlook because I am not anle to log on to the network and access
information. (I am currently logged on!)
It suggests I restart my computer and synchronise again, and to contact my
network administrator if the problem persists (I am an individual user on my
home PC not and never having been part of a network)
clearing ths error message prompts AS to begin sync'ing and the status
report shows it sync'd.
I do not use ms outlook as anything more than a store of sync'd data from my
mobile device, and never have.
My AS options settings are always to give priority to mobile over desktop. I
do not ever access ms outlook. Also I do not sync my mobile emails to
outlook, preferring a direct connection to hotmail from my mobile.
MS outlook is not set as my default email on the desktop PC and it never has
been, again I use hotmail.
I have never had any error message from it before yesterday and I have not
changed any settings on either PC or Mobile to prompt a problem.
It seems to have spontaneously decided to be awkward and I am not sure that
I trust it to be sync'ing properly now.
It then popped up with a SUPPORT CODE 0x85010014 error code and told me
attention was required to my 'notes' sync
any suggestions gratefully received
Which version of Outlook are you running? Did you make any changes
recently to your computer (ie install a new program, remove a program,
etc.)?
I posted recently saying how AS was automatically running on my Mobile
device every time I switched it on. I asked if anyone knew of a way to
disable it from autorunning on my Mobile device so it only fires up when i
need it at the end of the day.
I got a couple of replies that told me how to disable it running on my PC,
that is not the issue for me, I have capacity on my PC and don't care if it
autoruns on there or not.
It is my mobile device that I want to conserve memory and power on, does
anyone know if there is a way (other than remembering to go into task manager
or running progs at startup) to stop it autorunning on my mobile device,
wasting my memory and power by running all day in the background when I only
sync it once at the end of the day.
ActiveSync continually runs - it's an integrated part of the OS, and
there's no way to stop it from running. If it's plugged into your
computer, there's no chance of it running low on power (as the USB
cable charges the device), and the power drain is minimal. ActiveSync
is heavily integrated into the OS, so it's pretty much always running
(even if you don't see it in the programs list).
