Hi,
I suggest that you use the same host name for internal and external
references to the server. That way you won't have to change the host name
to sync internally.

do you mean that I should rename the domain. for just use the external
domain name for syncing.

Also, did you install the digital certificate that you are using for the
connection on the Pocket PC?
what digital certificate? pocket pc doesn't ask for a certificate when
creating partnership.

In addition you should be aware that you can
only sync 1 domain name with a digital certificate and IP address.

the syncing only has to be to one domain name, because the mailbox has mail
from both domain names.

re running internet connection wizard fixed the problem. but now I have new
problem. email not being delivered.

thanks

Jon

I just setup a single server sbs 2003 network. 10 users eventually.
Larger
later.
The main reason for setting up a server was to use exchange.
It is setup and working. Everyone is connecting to the exchange server
with
outlook.
The domain is mydomain.local. the server is exchange.
External mail is sent to mydomain1.net and mydomain2.net.
External dns points mx records for these domains to my router. My router
points them to my exchange server. I am forwarding ports 110, 25, 443,
and
80 to my exchange server.
External dns also points exchange.mydomain1.net and
exchange.mydomain2.net
to my router. Along with mail. And webmail. And mydomain.net and
mydomain2.net. all pointing to my router.
Owa is working fine.
I have checked to be sure that mobile services are turned on globally and
individually for each user.
I have turned off in directory security requires ssl
I have set authentication to integrated, and basic and I have set domain
to
my local domain name
I have granted access to all computers.
I have done this for the following folders

Exchange
Exchange-oma
Oma
Public
Microsoft-server-activesync
Exchweb

I am currently testing on my home 2003 server with ipaq in cradle. But I
have exact same setup as office exchange. Different domain names.

maybe some one can help

.
