On my XP one I use the MS one. None on my laptop (Win2K).

Hi,
Some firewalls do not disable themselves fully. Try uninstalling the
firewall and see if you can sync then.

I installed VxSniffer (www.cam.com) and I observe the following problem:
169.254.2.1 --> 169.254.2.2, Port 2224 --> 5679. When I am looking for
details about this connection I see the the 5679 port is unreachable by
the PDA.
I tried this procedure for both Firewall enabled and Firewall disabled
but always the same results.
My guess is that this port is somehow occupied. When I run 'netstat -a',
I see that my home PC listening this port.
Any ideas ?

Hi Chris,

I don't think this is the problem. First, I did Hard Reset and the
problem gone (until I sync with my laptop - IR sync). Sevond, I can
ping the PDA. My guess is that something is wrong with PDA
drivers/dll's and not HW or windows OS problem. BTW, my laptop running
Win2K and my homePC - XP.

Hi,
It could be a hardware problem with the usb cradle. I'd contact Dell
for assistance.

Chris two newe inputs.
I connected my PDA to my laptop through the USB and same results as
my Home PC. endless "Connecting" message appears but nothing else.
However, the IR sync with laptop still working. I believe this
problem points to a networking problem in my PDA. Don't you agree ?

I have already done that but nothing helps. I don't use VPN
installed.
I noticedd that the problem appeared first after the successful IR
sync (laptop).

Hi,
First insert the Pocket PC in the cradle and check on the Device
Manager and see if the device is found ok. If it has a exclamation
point or an unknown device, delete the device and then take the
Pocket PC out of the cradle and reinsert it. Your PC should
reinstall the driver for it.

Beyond that if you have a VPN client installed, it can conflict
with USB synchronization.

I use X51V, ROM version A06, SD 512M. My home PC is XP SP2, MS
built-in firewall.

I can't sync my PDA with my home PC anymore. I used to sync my PDA
with twp PC's. My laptop through IR connection and my Home PC
through USB. Conatcts and and Calendar are synchronized with my
laptop while Files and Favotites are synchronized with my home PC
(no sync overlap between the two PC's).

Afer hard reseting (the real hard one that requires re-installing
everything), the system was recovered and I could Activesyncing
with both od the PC's. After a massive IR synchronization
(Contacts and Calendar) the Home PC stopped syncing with the PDA
(when I instert PDA into cradle a constan "Connecting" message
appears forever).
The IR synchronization still working.
I disabled the firewall as well as Antivirus but nothing is
changed.

Any ideas ?
