Re: Error 608 when trying to sync

Hi,

Which operating system are you using? If you have installed AS 4.x version,
then the file would be there under the System32 directory. You have not
mentioned which device you are using?

Hard reset should solve the problem, thats often the last resort. If the
number of updated contacts are not a lot manually update these contacts on
your desktop and then proceed.

Hi,

I have tried this (could not find Rapi.dll file to delete), but am still
getting the same message. It looks like the only option is to do a hard
reset and lose my updated contacts etc.

Hi,

Did you do any new changes on your desktop or the device? Ensure the
firewall is configured correctly. Which device are you using? If you
reinstall an older version of ActiveSync after intalling 4.x version you
will need to delete some files manually. Refer -

I have been using cradle and bluetooth to sync Pocket PC using
ActiveSync
4.1
but for some reason it now comes up with and error message "Cannot
start
communications with the desktop computer. Remote Networking could not
start
due to a critical error (Error 608). Please reconnect your device. If
the
problem persists, restart your device using the instructions provided
by
the
manufacturer"

I have soft reset Pocket PC and also uninstalled 4.1 on PC and
installed
3.8
but with same results.

Any ideas?

Thanks
