Re: Posting to the activesync group...can't synch Audiovox 6700 after 1rst attempt

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

How did you determine that the PC detected you device?? The PnP sound
(doo-ding)?
Does a Windows mobile device appear in the Network adapters?

Do you see "02/21/2006 16:10:22.692 - USB RNDIS: Device Arrival
notification" in your wcescomm.log file in the %TEMP% dir?

What is the make and model of laptop?

I tried again without the docking station. It says 'not connected' in
activesync.

I removed activesync and started over with 4.0 from disc and then
upgrading
to 4.1. I see that it does update usb drivers on installation. I saw
that
it recognized a mobile pc when I connected it the first time. Activesync
still shows not connected. I try to connect and ...

it shows usb available but 'your device was not detected' in activesync
window.

As a side note, my mouse works fine on either usb port.

Any other ideas?

Thanks for your patience.

Generally, my laptop is plugged into a docking station and I use the usb
directly on the laptop.
It shows...
Generic USB Hub
Intel 8280 1DB/DBM USB 2.0 Enhanced controller ( 24Cd, 24c2,24c4, 24c7 )
USB Root Hub ( 1..4)
All say to be working correctly.

Can you try synchronizing with the laptop out of the docking station?

When it's plugged in, does it show up in Device Manager (Control Panel
-> System, Hardware tab, Device Manager button)? Do you get any error
messages?
Are you using any firewall software?
As I'm on a local network at work, I diabled the firewall on my pc. I
do
not see evidence of other firewalls.
Still could not sync. Should I look elsewhere for firewalls that might
be
enabled on a server on the network?

I was able to sync once on 2/14. I noticed the following in windows

Can this be related?

Doesn't look like it - all it was doing was querying the hardware and
Windows Update to find applicable updates.
