If you see my post from 21/11/05 you will see I am having a very similar
situation and the same error. I am really slow to cry "foul" when it comes
to computers because enough users quickly go to rant mode, but after
fighting it for days, I think I can say wholeheartedly I have no clue why
Microsoft hasn't been able to build a more robust sync software package.

When I try to Sync mu WinMob 5.0 phone (qtek9000) I receive a 85010014
error both against the pc (outlook cached mode) and remote server
(Exchange 2003 with Active Sync):
1. sync against Outlook in offline mode (with and without VPN
connection)
2. sync against Exchange server over SSL
I've read in ActiveSync 4.1 Readme.doc:
"4. KNOWN ISSUES
· ActiveSync 4.1 does not support remote synchronization."
Does this mean I have to be in direct contact with my Exchange
server???
I'm almost never at the office LAN. I either connect through SSL\443
OWA or VPN (Outlook cached mode),
If it is impossible to sync a MOBILE device throught these channels
they should never have released this "sync" software!!!
