USB Active sync problem

I am using the Motorola i.MX21 processor for developement of my WinCE
device. My eventual task is to run my own custom tests via the CETK on the
device. Using the Motorola ADS developement board, I have no problem
connecting to the PC and Active sync allows me to set up a partnership with
the device. I can use CETK and connect up to the device and run default
tests on the dev board. However, when I connect to my own custom board and
connect via USB, Activesync does not allow a connection to the device. The
device manager on my PC (WIndows XP with SP2) recognises the USB connection
by listing the device under Windows CE USB devices->Microsoft USB sync. Yet
trying to connect to Active sync does not yield any results, even though is
identifies my USB as being installed.
I have compared the Catalog Items listed in the Platform build for the ADS
dev board and have included the exact items in my build. I have also added
registry entries that Active sync requires to connect to the PC. I have also
tried to connect to the custom device via the CETK using various
combinations for transport and startup servers but with no success.
Any assitance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Dees
