USB connection for Ipaq

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I've got a brand new ipaq that won't recognize under USB in Windows 2000 Pro
on a laptop. Bluetooth works fine. I send and recieve email POP3 and all the
Apps seem to work. I'm trying to Syncronize with MS Activesync, but the USB
connection is labeled Comm Port 8. W2K has all the patches, etc. Any help
would be appreciated.

I found a site: http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/activesync/usbissues.htm but
it hangs in IE 6 on my windows XP Sp2 PC.
