Syncing files to an SD card

Is it possible to sync large files directly to my SD card in my pocket pc or
do i have to first go to the handheld and then cut and paste to the sd card?
Also, Is it normal for the explore option on activesync 3.7 not to work. It
says reset handheld and try again. Doesn't work.
