I use BT broadband, Vista, Outlook 2003 and McAfee. I am having the same
problem. I have had this problem for about a year but in recent days it
has got much worse. The problem has been occuring from before the time
I moved to Vista.

I have tried switching off McAfee - this makes no difference.

I have spoken to BT about it - they say there is an incompatibility
between BT Broadband and Outlook. They say they are working on it!!!!

I really dont know what else I can do. BT are either not giving it any
priority or have given up. Perhaps I should switch to another broadband
provider but will this make any difference?

Last time I checked, BT Internet uses Yahoo as its mail provider, so BT is blowing smoke at you.
