I have checked the address in my account setup and it is correct. What
might cause the reply to address to become corrupted like this? The
result is return messages are not arriving.

I have just added the same return address to the Reply to settings to
see if it helps. All I can think of is some security setting is keeping
the correct address from being used.

They got your e-mail so obviously you specified their correct e-mail
address. You received their reply so obviously your e-mail address in
the From or Reply-To header was correct. So whose e-mail address is it
that you see is incomplete or invalid, and where do you see it?
