Outlook sucks as a newsreader - if you don't believe me, try the
newsreader addins and you'll discover many of the limitations of using a

As bad as OE (and its incarnations of Vista Mail and Live Mail) are, they
are better newsreaders than outlook ever would be and if those don't suit,
alternate browsers include newsreaders, or you can use standalones like
Agent, xananews, xnews, gravity and many, many others. I like xananews the
best of all non-MS clients, but stopped using it when beta testing as I
formatted too often - it was faster to use OE than to reinstall the
software.
