password not being saved

My boss uses Outlook 2003. Recently it started prompting him for his
password everytime it does a send/receive. I checked the account settings
and tested the username/password. They were fine, the password just won't
save. The username IS in the username field when the prompt comes up. Any
suggestions on troubleshooting?
