Outlook 2007 is so buggy

I've recently migrated from outlook express to outlook 2007. To my
surprise, I'm extremely frustrated by the following problems:

1.New mail blue bracket doesn't work for IMAP and hotmail accounts.
The blue bracket ,for example, (3) that would alert me there are 3
new mails in this mail box doesn't update itself for hotmail and IMAP
accounts, under certain scenarios.
By default, IMAP and hotmail folders aren't expanded. So I added the
"inbox" of these folders into my favourites. However, after 'send/
receive', the blue bracket doesn't appear on these 'favoures' links to
these IMAP/hotmail inboxes .The blue bracket for favourites will
appear when I manually click to expand an IMAP or hotmail account (to
reveal the inbox folder contained) and suddenly discover there are
many new mails sitting there.

This problem is unbearable, if I launch outlook in the morning, I want
it to tell me if there is any new mail in all hotmails accounts right
away, I don't want to go through each of my 10 hotmail accounts and
discover that everytime I expand an hotmail account there is a bunch
of new mails which wasn't reflected by blue bracket on the 'favourite'
link to inbox.
Is there any way to
a.correctly let the favourite link reflect blue brackets after
clicking'send/receive'
b.automatically expand IMAP/hotmail accounts to reveal the folder
within ( which are shrunk by default, unlike the main inbox)

2.Doesn't actually delete mail 'marked as delete' in IMAP accounts

If I try to delete a mail in an IMAP account, I would see a straight
line --------, written over the mail, however the mail isn't deleted at
all. When I goto the webmail interface of the same IMAP account, the
mail is still there. I thought outlook only add a 'deletion' status to
the mail and it needs to be updated through 'send/receive' to take
this status request and take action and actually delete the mail. To
my dismay, even after I clicked "send/receive" several times, the mail
still sits at the remote server (Microsoft Exchange 2003).
Then I thought there is a time-detonated 'suicide' of mail with
deletion status, it isn't true. The mail is still there after several
days.

3.Search folder cannot include IMAP/hotmail accounts.
I guess this is the built-in behaviour of outlook.
But why outlook architects don't include this function? If I want to
group all unread mail in one search folder why should it only include
POP accounts but not IMAP/hotmail accounts.

I hope there exists a work-around to each of the problems. Otherwise I
would really regret all the effort I made in learning how to outlook
2007.

4.In certain scenarios, a composed mail isn't sent and stays in
outbox. After I manually click send/receive several times, the mail
still stays in outbox. There isn't any problem with the SMTP server
by the way, all I need to do is to move it to Draft and then send it
again.
This is scary since I haven't figured out under what scenarios this
problem would appear and it makes my paranoid about if mails are
actaully sent.

5.Is there a way to let outlook always show the 'details' screen of
send/receive. The detail screen pops up when I manually click send/
receive. However, it does not pop up when I lauch outlook which
automatically does a 'send/receive'.

Best Wishes,
