This newsgroup is for support of Outlook 97, 98, 2000, 2002 & 2003 from the Office family for Intel PCs. For Outlook Express (OE) support try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.aspx?ICP=GSS3&NewsGroup=microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress&SLCID=US&sd=GN&id=fh;en-us;newsgroups
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.aspx?ICP=GSS3&NewsGroup=microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress&SLCID=US&sd=GN&id=fh;en-us;newsgroups
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.aspx?ICP=GSS3&NewsGroup=microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress&SLCID=US&sd=GN&id=fh;en-us;newsgroups
microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac for the Macintosh version of OE
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.aspx?ICP=GSS3&NewsGroup=microsoft.public.internet.outlookexpress.mac&SLCID=US&sd=GN&id=fh;en-us;newsgroups
If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source for all the microsoft.public newsgroups). The links under the newsgroup references are for use with MS's web newsreader (not exactly the best way to post but it works for some people)
Also a good source of Outlook Express info can be found here:

Hi,
I am a complete novice when it comes to the technical side of e-mails - ISP,
ports, SMTPs etc. so was wondering if anybody could help with my problem.
I use AOL to get onto the Internet and have a business e-mail address which
doesn't use AOL, e.g name@xxxxxxxxxxxxx How do I set up the account on my
Outlook Express to send/receive the e-mails to and from the business address
while AOL is my ISP??
I have done it before but every so often an error, like the one below, will
come up when I try and send something. Or I'll get a message from McAfee
saying that the E-Mail can't be sent.
"The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's
e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was 'name@xxxxxxxxxxxx'. Subject
'Re: (no subject)', Account: 'Name', Server: 'SMTP.aol.com', Protocol: SMTP,
Server Response: '556 CLIENT AUTHENTICATION REQUIRED. USE ESMTP EHLO AND
AUTH.', Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 556, Error Number:
0x800CCC78"
I was just wondering if somebody could advise me on the settings that I need
to use to make it work or point me in the direction of a website that could
tell me??
