How often do you have the program poll the server for messages. I have mine
set for 10 minutes.

Have you inadvertently clicked on Work Offline on the File drop down menu?

I have Windows XP with the SP2 installed and Outlook 2003.

With no reason apparent (no new software intalled, no change in the
configuration on the notebook, etc.) my Outlook appears as Disconnected.

Every now and then the condition change and Download all my email and 2 or
3
days working normal it disconnect again.

I will appreaciated all the help I can get.
