Re: RSS feeds not updating (OL2007)

Hi Gordon,

Microsoft Office Diagnostics might solve the problem without reinstalling (All Programs, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Office Tools). Before you run it, you might want to delete all RSS feeds (or export them to an OPML file), run it, and recreate them (or import the OPML file). You probably should also delete all the subfolders of RSS Subscriptions. To be safe, deleting the Outlook.sharing.xml.obi might also be a good idea (this file stores the index of subscriptions and is rebuilt automatically). The file is in Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
If Office Diagnostics doesn't solve your problem, you probably have to reinstall. Make sure you have no RSS subscriptions in Outlook when you do so.
Let me know if you still have problems after all of this.

I'd done this and also rebooted with no improvement, but after further
playing around I've discovered that there are send / receive errors eg:

Task 'RSS Feeds' reported error (0xF1740155) : 'Outlook cannot download the
RSS content from http://blogs.msdn.com/joe_friend/rss.aspx because of a
problem connecting to the server. An OLE registration error occurred. The
program is not correctly installed. Run Setup again for the program.'

That aren't being reported at the end of send / receive.

Looks like I've got to re-install OL anyway, so I'll see if that fixes the
problem.
