It does come up here from time to time and also in the microsoft.public.outlook.general group. You might find the search feature at http://googlegroups.com useful.

I would think that any "expert' would have to make a thorough examination of your business operation before providing a recommendation. Factors would include type of data contained in attachments, frequency with which they're accessed by multiple people, level of in-house support for Exchange server, server configuration, etc.

all I was really hoping for was direction to a site that would have that
discussion started; within our office we are definitely having
"discussion"; but, in a very real way, it's the uniformed strongly arguing
with the uniformed -both reinventing the wheel!

This forum is fine, but only the folks in your office can decide what will
work best for your business. That's where you need to have a serious

generally, appropriate to the nature of the business, the email is stored
in
subfolders within the public folder. the emails frequently have

"immediately available" when dealing with the emails issues (i.e. attached
to it). other suggestions have been to drag all the emails (with their
attachment) to a "normal" folder (outside of outlook); of course doing
this
also strips all sorts of useful tools (ex: being able to sort by the
senders
name...)
