Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi.
You know that little window that comes up when you do a send/receive, if
your password or ID is incorrect,
it's called Network Logon and has the name of your smtp or pop3 and says to
enter your ID and password and has a tick to remember it.
What does it mean when the window keeps coming up eventhough everything is
correct and your configurations haven't been touched? And then maybe an hour
later send/receive will work fine again?

This used to happen a lot in the old days when your ISP or mail server was
doing some maintanance or conjestion and stuff but I haven't had it come up
for over 2 years.

Until last week. It keeps coming up intermitently. Sometimes it's to
receive, sometimes it's to send, sometimes both and sometimes I don't get it
at all. It'll be the case for either all my 8 email addresses or just a
couple.

This all started when I was online in my account (Bt.Yahoo) and created a
new mail box/address, which for some reason didn't complete, so I couldn't
use it. I spoke to support and was pushed up to the highest support level,
who called me everyday for 5 days to give me an update as they were trying
to resolve the problem.
Around the 4th or 5th day I noticed the Server login window started coming
up and assumed it was because they were working on my account.
Then on the 6th day I noticed that this new mail box was working and I was
able to access it. But I still kept getting this intermitent problem with
the log on.

I called BT support (call centre), but they are adament that this is an
Outlook problem and won't even put me through to the next level. They say
the fact that I can access my Webmail means that there's no problem on their
end.

How can there be a problem with Outlook? why would it work one moment and
not another when the configurations aren't being touched?

Does any one have any ideas on this please?
Jen
