Re: 03 versus 97/2002 version

The 97-2002 format (ansi) has an upper limitation of ~2 gigs (1.87 to be
precise) for its storage and can become corrupt and cause lost data if
exceeded. The 2003 format (unicode) has a theoretical limit of 32
terrabytes (20 gigs is the configurable default).

The new format is not backwards compatible so proceed at your own risk.
File->new-outlook data file. Give it a distinct name (usually yourname.pst
is sufficient). Drag and drop your folders from the old to the new. Hint -
for the calendar, displaying by the category view, select all, and then
dragging to the new calendar FOLDER works best.

After furious head scratching, LT asked:

| When I brought my old .pst file into my new OL 2003, it kept the
| format as 97/2002. Does this slow down or eliminate any functions?
| Since I don't sync with another computer, is there an advantage to re
| do things to 2003 fornmat? If yes, how the heck do ya do it?
