Outlook applies all rules, including subsequent ones to all messages as they come in. If a rule moves it to another folder and doesn't stop Outlook from processing those subsequent rules, then Outlook retains the original message int he Inbox so that those subsequent rules can operate.
And should I add that statement to all my other rules that currently work OK or shall I use the maxim "If it aint broke......"
If you get the results you want, don't change the rules further.
