"Object not found" error and Archive Folders

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

I am battling hard to find who on this planet knows this one:

I have a rogue 'Archive Folder' living next to my Personal Folders that
I am unable to remove - when I select 'Close "Archive Folders"' the
following error dialog is displayed:

"The operation failed. An object could not be found"

I've got Outlook 2003 (Office Pro Edition) running on XP Pro - with all
and latest updates. I've verified I can add and remove other datafiles
with no issue - this is also my default archive folder.

To explain further, the archive folder in question is the same one as
specified in my default folder settings and is displaying the same
contents, I can add that same archive as another Outlook data file and
close it. I have other archive folders for other folders and they
behave fine - and when I close them they go away but this one - it's
staying for good - for now anyway until some bright spark can relieve
me of this bizarre bug.

I'd also rather not loose my current settings - I've got lots of email
accounts configured and don't like the idea of re-entering every single
one nor re-importing all the rules if it can be avoided.

Hoping someone has been there first or knows some Outlook-Fu to crack
this one.
