Attachments are stored with the message in your PST. To (permanently)
remove an attachment from a message, open the message (i.e., double click
it, for example), select the attachment, and press Delete. When you close
the mesage, you'll be prompted to save the changes. Choose Yes. Don't
forget that if you haven't saved the attachment anywhere, it's gone. Also
be aware that, unless you compact your PST, doing what I've described will
not free up any disk space.
