Cant reach exchange server after Win2k reinstall

I had the same error. But I was using Win2k and Office
2k. I think my issue may be related to your issue.

What I imagine happened to me was that a recent hotfix
failed. I uninstalled it, it did not fully restore my
registry settings. Parts of my RPC settings were missing.
After I restored it, based on the Q article, and after
rebooting, I was able to get Outlook to find and connect
to our Exchange server.
