LOL i got exact same problem
have a desktop and laptop both with xp and outlook
both on same router
laptop FLY's fast.
where as desktop is TOOOO slow.
and i use the SAME account on BOTH LOL now tell me that is not funny, when the desktop is supposed to have twice as much memory and four times the speed processor
seay solution is to login with your account in the desktop to see if it still is slow. then the answer is simple.. get a new desktop LOL

I have a laptop with Outlook 2002 (Windows XP) that works just fine. My
wife's email account is on my desktop PC (Windows XP), both connected to the
same router. Her Outlook account taked a very long time to recieve emails,
maybe 20 minutes for 10 small emails. We are both on the same SMTP and POP
email servers. I checked both PC's and thay have the same settings except
for the email address.
Any Help?
Thanks
