Hi,

Got a win2k machine here running office 2k, which has suddenly started
complaining that outlook cant open attachments and that we should right
click the folder and check the properties. We have this occasionally here
and every time it can be fixed by changing the temporary internet files
location in IE to the users local settings folder, but not this time.

This started happening after installing the latest hotfixes from the MS
Office download site. I have checked the perms on the temp internet files
folder, i have checked the TMP and TEMP system variables and they are valid.
I have tried changing the temp internet files folder location, and that
didn't work.

The only anomaly that i can find is that there is no Office section under
HKCU in the registry. I found this out when i checked the secure temp
location for outlook, only to not find that, or anything else relating to
office in the current_user section. Ignoring that, I added a securetemp
entry as per
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=http://support.microsoft.com:
80/support/kb/articles/q296/1/15.asp&NoWebContent=1 and rebooted, but that
didn't work either.

Anyone got any more ideas what the issue might be ?

Olly
