Without using 3rd party software reminders only fire from the default Inbox, Tasks, Calendar or Contacts folder. Since that warning is hard-coded into Outlook even with 3rd party software you'd still get the warning even if the reminders did fire when due.

I am still trying to get outlook to accept reminders for my own calendar.
previously I used the default setting. I have had to change due to an error
with the palm one sync function. I have set the perameters for outlook using
my calendar I keep getting messages telling me that becuase the information
is not in my calendar or in my task list it won't give me a reminder.
